Recently we have had quite a few "members" joining the forum who were in fact just spam attempts.

To prevent this, when you register on the forum you will need to wait for approval from a moderator, rather than being able to activate your account via receipt of an automated email, as at present.

This should not take long - though if you register in the evening it may not be until the next morning that approval is given.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but it will hopefully avoid heaps of silly registrations and unpleasant posts on the forum.

Hi Mate

I'm usually online at night until quite late or even early next day so I'd be happy to be a moderator and help approve people if that would be any help?

By the way thanks for sorting my logon probs out as you can see I can log in ok now.

Cheers
Haldir

I've eased the restrictions for the moment Kev, and am just keeping an eye on new members - we'll see how it goes.

Over the past weeks we've had a fair few spam members sign up - no posts from them generally, but junk all the same. I have deleted them, and now done a little tweak that SHOULD prevent more signups - so please get in touch if you're a genuine new registrant that can't register for any reason.
